Florida has a free program for families called New Worlds Reading.
Scholars in VPK – 5th grade can get 9 free books that you choose + activities to build reading skills.

What is New Worlds Reading?
New Worlds Reading is Florida’s free at-home literacy program to help eligible VPK through fifth graders strengthen literacy skills and encourage a lifelong love of reading.
Help your VPK-5th grade students read on grade level by sharing New Worlds Reading with their families. Families can learn more and apply at newworldsreading.com
What do enrolled students receive?
Enrolled students receive: 9 free books each school year through fifth grade aligned with Florida B.E.S.T. standards.
Reading activities and literacy resources that reinforce science of reading strategies to support caregivers.
Who picks which books the child will receive?
Families select which books they want to receive to help spark kids’ excitement for reading.
What languages are books available in?
Books are available in English, Spanish, Haitian Creole, or braille.
Who is eligible for New Worlds Reading?
To be eligible, kids must be VPK - 5th graders in Florida VPK programs, public schools, and charter schools who are not yet meeting grade level expectations in reading.
